Athlete Biography
Laura is a scholarship holder at the Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS). She currently balances full time university studies with triathlon training and competition. Laura was identified as a potential triathlete through a sibling search by the QAS Talent Search Program as her sister Annabel was a QAS triathlete. Laura previously held a QAS scholarship for gymnastics and medaled at national junior elite level in artistic gymnastics. She first represented Australia in triathlon as a junior in Madeira in 2004 and then in Gamagori in 2005.

Athlete Injuries: Ongoing shoulder injury from gymnastics has always limited swimming. Successful shoulder reconstruction November 2005 but hip injury in September 2005 has prevented any training or competition in 2006. Major reconstruction of right hip October 2006.
