The International Triathlon Union (ITU) has accepted the World Anti-Doping Agencies (WADA) Code to help keep our sport clean. We have also written the ITU Anti-Doping Rules which are also in compliance with the World Anti-Doping Code.
For a National Federation (NF) to be affiliated then they must abide by the WADA Code and ITU Rules. For a printed copy of the ITU Anti-Doping Rules, please contact us.
Every coaching course and junior development camp organized by ITU has an Anti-Doping Component. For National Federations to have their coaching courses approved, then they must have an Anti-Doping Component as well.
Athletes who are doing ITU events are required to have Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUE) if they wish to use a banned substance. The rules regarding these documents may be found on the WADA website.
ITU Elite athletes are required to submit Athlete Location Forms. These may be done through their National Federation, their National Anti-Doping Agency, through an online system or through ITU. Athletes required to complete these forms should contact their NF for more information.
If you have any questions regarding ITU and their Anti-Doping policies, please contact us.
