Sergio Sarmiento and Crisanto Grajales garner gold and silver, marking the first time a Mexican has ever won at the Cancun ITU Triathlon World Cup. France's Gregory Rouault joined them on the podium for bronze.
Brutal heat proved no problem for Great Britain's Katie Hewison, who won her first ITU World Cup gold in Cancun in her return to triathlon racing. American Kaitlin Shiver earned silver and Austrian Olympian Lisa Perterer took bronze.
Kathy Tremblay, Steffen Justus, Crisanto Grajales and Adriana Barraza met with media prior to the final World Cup for the year in Cancun to discuss their race form and seasons to date.
The 2012 ITU World Cup season comes to a close in Cancun, a city that twice hosted the ITU World Championships. Past World Cup winners and a WTS winner highlight the women's and men's start lists
