NANJING TECHNICAL OFFICIALS
The application process for National Federations to nominate their eligible Technical Officials will be open early next year.
To be eligible, Technical Officials must be:
• Certified as an ITU Technical official (Level 1, 2 or 3);
• A maximum age of 35 years of age in 2014 (born in 1979 or after);
• Fluent in English.
The Triathlon competitions of the Youth Olympic Games will be 17th, 18th and 21st of August 2014 so Technical Officials will arrive, according to the NYOGOC policy, 3 days prior to the first competition day, 14th of August. Departure will be the day after the last competition day, 22nd of August.
The deadlines in the Technical Official Appointment process are:
31 January, 2014 / The Technical Committee approves the updated Technical Officials’ list and levels from 2013. This list will be emailed to all National Federations the following day.
28 February, 2014 / National Federation email their short list of eligible Technical Officials to the Sport Department at email@example.com. The National Federations must select one Technical Official or two if the second is from the other gender. National Federations are advised to propose their highest classified Technical Officials to increase the chance of selection.
10 March, 2014 / The Technical Committee and the YOG TD will select 10 Technical Officials to officiate at the 2014 Nanjing Youth Olympic Games. The selection will be based on a shortlist of eligible Technical Officials proposed by the Sport Department. 2 reserves will also be selected through the same process. This list will be forwarded to the ITU Executive Board for review and approval.
20 March, 2014 / Announcement of the Executive Board approved 10 Technical Officials and 2 reserves.
