My first triathlon was in February 2005 in New Zealand where I qualified to represent NZ in the Triathlon World Championships for U23 Elite.
I was crowned U23 World Champion in September 2005.
In March 2006 I was the bronze medalist at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia. And the following week I had my first World Cup podium in Mooloolaba. I finished my first season ranked 9th in the World and was awarded the ITU International Triathlon Rookie of the Year.
