ETU appoints Zeljko Bijuk as Sport Development Co-ordinator
The European Triathlon Union is delighted to announce the appointment of Zeljko Bijuk as ITU Sport Development Co-ordinator for Europe. This role has been created to develop and progress the future of triathlon and Zeljko will be working closely with the European National Federations on development programmes as well as providing guidance and support for emerging national federations.
Philip Schaedler, President of the ETU, acknowledges that “sports development is essential to enable the ETU to make substantial progress in our various forms of triathlon and multisports and to also progress our sport to a higher professional level”.
Zeljko Bijuk brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role of Development Co-ordinator. Having been involved with triathlon for over fourteen years after initially joining the sport as an age-group athlete and going onto fulfil executive roles within his own Croatian Federation, Zeljko has also organised and managed youth triathlon training camps across the globe.
Zeljko’s enthusiasm for his new role is infectious as he determines how we will move forward into the future, “I hope that we can together start the fire of triathlon in countries without national federations and go on to develop emerging ones so we as ETU can be even stronger at big events”.
We wish Zeljko a successful and rewarding future in his new role with the European Triathlon Union.
