SALARY

An experienced, driven triathlon coach and manager who show’s innovation and entrepreneurial skills, is required to lead the Thanyapura triathlon academy. A focus on developing elite junior triathletes, a career in management in the sports industry and the ability to thrive on working in a fast paced team environment is essential.

To ensure success in this role, you will have demonstrated a positive working relationship with junior, age group and elite athletes in an individual and team setting; have a thorough understanding of the requirements of junior, age group and high performance athletes in training and their desire to fulfill their triathlon potential; understand training and racing requirements for ITU athletes; and have a high level of understanding and knowledge of training principles, race strategies, sport science and athlete development.

Management experience in leading a team of staff from a variety of cultural backgrounds and demonstrating composure under pressure is important for this position. A proven track record in managing teams and staff to meet organizational objectives is valuable. Applicants need to demonstrate the ability to plan and work within a budget, and the ability to develop strategic, business, marketing and elite junior athlete training plans.

The Head Coach position involves:

  • Plan, Develop, Implement and Coach the Elite Junior Triathlon Academy
  • Talent Identification and Recruitment of junior triathletes
  • Working in an integrative environment with Sport Science, Sports Medicine, Strength and Conditioning, Sports Mind Training and Educational specialists
  • Supervising the Age Group and Junior Development program
  • Staff and Financial Management
  • Working under the guidance of the Director of Sport Academies

A background in ITU Elite and Junior triathlon coaching and sport management experience is required. It is recommended that candidates have a tertiary level qualification in sport management, sport science or related discipline and have at least an ITU Coaching Level 2 certification (or equivalent). Outstanding communication (written and verbal), negotiation, problem solving and customer service skills are required.
