by World Triathlon Admin on 23 Jul, 2009 12:00

Throughout the year, the ITU Events Department puts on courses for International Technical Officials and Event Organisers to certify and upgrade their skills on everything from the competition rules, to setting race courses and sports presentation.  Also, included amongst the many topics is anti-doping.

On July 15 and 16th, 2009, Gustavo Svane (PATCO) and Leslie Buchanan, ITU Anti-doping Director, taught a course in Puerto Rico to officials and event organisers. The anti-doping aspect of the course covered the requirements for the Local Organising Committee for the different levels of races, the rights and responsibilities of the athletes with regards to sample collection and results management.  Participants in the course were from all over the Caribbean and Central America.

If you have any questions regarding Anti-doping, please contact Leslie Buchanan, ITU’s Anti-doping Director at leslie.buchanan@triathlon.org.
