A group of 14 prominent ITU Level 2 coaches and technical officials from 9 countries in Europe gathered in Budapest, Hungary for the ITU Facilitator certification course dedicated to the participants of European Triathlon Union.

This was the fourth facilitator course this year, and the first to be held in Europe, for educating and certifying coaches and technical officials to be able to facilitate ITU courses in their federations and regions.  Essentially, this was a course to “Train the Trainer.”  The three and a half day course was an intensive hands-on programme which that provided the ‘learners’ with advanced techniques and skills in facilitation.  ITU ensures that the quality of the presentations prepared by those experts is selected from all five continents.

Norman Brook, Alan Ley and Thanos Nikopoulos have teamed together to offer this ‘hands on’ hands-on course, which was well received by the attendees.  The participants were engaged with the great learning experiences, and are expected to integrate the knowledge into their future presentations.

Libby Burrell, Director of ITU Sport Development, said:
“I have been extremely impressed by the enthusiastic participation of each and every candidate at the course. It has been exciting to see the progress among the group on all levels of presentation even in such a short period of time and also to hear the positive remarks from even the very top level officials and coaches about how this course has helped them see the importance of the ‘HOW to present’ in the effectiveness of the ‘WHAT to present’.”
