ITU President Arrives in Mexico for ITU Meetings

Marisol Casado (ESP), President of the International Triathlon Union (ITU), will arrive in Mexico City this afternoon to participate in meetings of ITU’s Executive Board over which she presides.

Members of the ITU Executive Board, the PATCO Executive Board and the Pan-American-Iberio Confederation (AIT)  will arrive in Mexico on Wednesday, 20 January. 

Casado plans to spend the next days in meetings with the highest sport authorities in the country. 

The PATCO Executive Board will meet on Thursday while the AIT board will meet on Friday and the ITU Executive Board meeting on Friday and Saturday.  All meetings will be at the Hotel Camino Real Polanco. 

The key business of the meetings will focus on the triathlon in the Pan American Games 2011 and the qualification criteria of selection for the Olympic Games of London 2012.

Paschal Warlike, President of the Committee Organizer of the World Games Cali, 2013 will also be in Mexico for the meetings. 

The Executive Board meetings of ITU, PATCO and AIT will take place in Mexico thanks to the leadership of Antonio Álvarez, Vice President of ITU. 

The Mexican Triathlon Federation will host the meetings of the three organizations reinforcing the solidity with ITU.  In 2010, Mexico will host two ITU Triathlon World Cup events: Monterrey and Huatulco, as well as the qualifying round for the Pan America qualifier for the 2010 Singapore Youth Olympic Games (Monterrey) and the Pan American Triathlon Championship in Port Vallarta, Jalisco.
