London Mayor, Boris Johnson, got into the swing of things last week outside City Hall, his official offices, to promote the Dextro Energy Triathlon ITU World Championship Series, due to take place in London on 15 and 16th August.

Johnson joined Rachel Joyce, an emerging London-based triathlete, to warm-up for the triathlon event as well as for international events in modern pentathlon and basketball taking place in the British capital on the same weekend.

Joyce, interviewed by the British media, was a fantastic advocate for triathlon as a fast-growing and attractive sport and she urged the public to sign up for the mass participation event on August 16th by logging onto www.triathlon-wcs-london.org

Meanwhile, Alistair Brownlee, winner of the elite men’s race in Madrid and Washington, was described by the UK’s national press agency as the ‘hottest triathlete in town’ in an article syndicated to all UK newspapers and broadcast outlets.
