President Casado Honored with Royal Order of Sporting Merit

Marisol Casado has been honored with the Royal Order of Sporting Merit in the category of the Gold Medal. This award was granted by the President of the Sports Council of Spain for her outstanding work for the development of sport in general and Triathlon in particular, on the national and international level.

Marisol had the double honor of representing her peers in her acceptance speech. Among the awarded were the Real Madrid FC goalkeeper, Iker Casillas, the FC Barcelona coach, Pep Guardiola, and the presidents of the international federations of canoeing and hockey.

Marisol said: “This is a great honor for me to dedicate this award to my teammates and my family. I will never forget this special moment in my life and for everyone who has supported me for so many years.”

The award was given in the Ministry of Sports by HRH the Infanta Doña Elena de Borbón.
