Three weeks before the 2005 ITU Madrid World Cup, a world-wide waiting list of triathletes is expecting to participate in the capital of Spain next 5 June. According to the ITU rules, only 75 athletes can compete in each World Cup event… though now there are 90 men wanting to be in Madrid.
The criteria for competing in a World Cup event are the following: the 2005 ITU World Cup Ranking and the ITU Points Ranking. Moreover, in each World Cup event, there are places assigned for the organizing country, in this case the Spanish Triathlon Federation.
The warm weather in Madrid and the nice show organized, including the presence of lots of fans along the circuit, make this event a favourite one for many triathletes all over the world.
