5 August 2024 08:00The Triathlon competition at the London 2012 Olympic Games will be held on Saturday 4 August at 9am and
Tuesday 7 August 2012 at 11:30am at Hyde Park in central London.
The competition will consist of two (2) medal events; Men Individual (1), Women Individual (1).
A total of 110 athletes, 55 men and 55 women, may take part in the Triathlon competition.
Competition format
The men’s and women’s Triathlon events will be conducted to standard distances:
–– Swim: 1,500m – one (1) lap
–– Bike: 43km – seven (7) laps of a 6.137km course
–– Run: 10km – four (4) laps of a 2.5km course
Each event is continuous, with no breaks in competition. In both the men’s and women’s
events, the first athlete to complete the course will be declared the winner.
