Triathlon alongside Track Cycling, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Modern Pentathlon, Equestrian (cross country) and both ceremonies became London 2012’s first sell out events in the initial public application process.
If you were not one fo the lucky few to get a ticket to the venue however there are still many ways to watch the Olympians in action for free.
Come down to one of the 8 Triathlon Live locations around the UK - participate in our unique triathlon set-up and watch all the action on a big screen in a city centre near you.
More on Triathlon Live Sites.
Ticketed areas are limited to the grandstand and the standing area next to the Finish/Transition Zone as well the narrow area between the Serpentine Road and the Serpentine Lake.
Our host federation, British Triathlon shares the details of some of the prime free spots.
There are many places around the Serpentine which are not ticketed and provide the perfect vantage point for the Olympic Triathlon
- The Wellington Arch / Hyde Park Corner
- Buckingham Palace (Green Park Tube is the best access)
- South side of Serpentine Bridge (access onto the bridge will not be possible during the event)
- The Lido
- Hercules Monument
- South Carriage Drive and Inside the park at Knightsbridge, southern access from South Kensington, Knightsbridge tube stations Northern access to the park via Marble Arch tube
Note there is no public access to Serpentine Bridge or the northern section of West Carriage Drive.
