Ian is a multi-lingual lawyer, with experience as CEO and CFO of various Siemens subsidiaries. 1981 to 2013 international business career with Siemens AG, Germany. Since leaving Siemens, Chairman of MKM Mansfelder Kupfer und Messing in Germany, and the Westinghouse Pension Fund in the UK. Ian offers comprehensive international business experience to World Triathlon.
Experience in Triathlon and Sports Administration
- 1983 Took part in the first British National Triathlon Championships in Reading
- 2001 Became a GB Age Group Team Manager
- 2005 Appointed to the Board of the British Triathlon Federation (BTF) as Deputy Chair and Director of Business
- 2013 Appointed President of the BTF and also to the Board of the ETU
- 2015 Elected to the Board of the British Olympic Association (NOC)
- Winner of national titles as an age group triathlete
- Level 2 coach and current member of the Farnham Triathlon Club
- London 2012, gold and bronze. Rio 2016, gold, silver and bronze
- Awarded ETU National Governing Body of the Year in January 2016
- Working with the ITU supports coaching projects around the world
- Organises WTS Leeds and other inspirational events
