2026 World Triathlon Championship Series Karlovy Vary

AIRPORT TRANSFERS

The Organizer will provide transportation from the Václav Havel International Airport Prague from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM on days 11.9. - 13.9. and to the airport from 5:00 AM to 8:00 PM on days 14.9. - 16.9.

The transfer takes around 2 hours.

The transfer is provided by a regular bus line to Karlovy Vary and is free for athletes and coaches until the capacity is exhausted and within the schedule of the bus line.

Free transport cannot be provided outside of the dates and conditions mentioned above.

The Organizer provides free transportation for elite athletes (with bike) and team coaches. The price for any additional member of an escorting team is €20 per person for one journey.

In case of delayed flight free seats are not guaranteed in the next bus transfer.

For free transfer, send your flight information (arrival time and flight number) to the mail address transfer@citytriathlon.cz before 31.8.2026. After this date the cost of the transfer will be €20 per person/way.

LOC also offers an individual transfer at any time. For 1-3 persons for 140€/transfer or for 4-7 persons for 180€/transfer. Please contact transfer@citytriathlon.cz

Sustainable Transportation during the Event

To minimize the environmental footprint of the World Triathlon Championship Series Karlovy Vary 2026, we promote sustainable transport solutions for both athletes and spectators:

• Free Shuttle Buses – Continuous shuttle service will operate free of charge between the main venues, Rolava Swimming Complex and Divadelní náměstí, ensuring safe, convenient, and eco-friendly transport without the need for individual car use.

•Renting bikes for TO's from world triathlon Office

• Walking Accessibility – Karlovy Vary is a compact city, and the majority of race venues are within walking distance. Walking is encouraged as the most sustainable and healthy transport option.

• Reduced Car Dependence – By providing shuttle services and promoting walking, we significantly reduce traffic congestion, noise pollution, and CO₂ emissions in the city center during race weekend.

Hotel Thermal fulfills 6 of the 7 criteria set by World Triathlon for sustainable, event-affiliated accommodation. Its central location, integration into the race infrastructure, and sustainability features make it a key partner for the successful and responsible delivery of WTCS Karlovy Vary 2026.

Other Accommodation

There are plenty of options in Karlovy Vary. For convenience, we are recommending to look for apartments as well, as they are usually better equipped for stay with bikes

Recommended arrival airport: Prague Václav Havel Airport (PRG), approximately 120 km from Karlovy Vary.

Athletes traveling to the Czech Republic for the Karlovy Vary City Triathlon may require a Schengen visa, depending on their nationality. We recommend checking the latest entry requirements on the official website of the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs or contacting the nearest Czech embassy or consulate well in advance. Participants should ensure their passports are valid for at least three months beyond the intended stay and bring official race registration confirmation if needed for visa purposes.

Currency: The official currency is the Czech Koruna (CZK). Euros are not widely accepted outside of major hotels. ATMs provide the best exchange rate.

Power Sockets: The standard is Type E (230V / 50 Hz). This socket has two round pins and a central grounding pin. Ensure you have the correct travel adapter for all electronic devices (laptops, massage guns, etc.).
