La temporada de triatlón 2016 será recordada por siempre: la Serie Mundial de Triatlón, las Copas Mundo, los eventos de Campeonatos Mundiales, los Juegos Olímpicos y Paralímpicos. 2016 ha sido un año pleno, ajetreado, lleno de momentos inolvidables.

Si pasamos revista, ¿cuáles han sido los momentos más destacados?

A lo largo de las próximas semanas estaremos publicando artículos sobre lo “Mejor del año 2016”. Estaremos repasando las actuaciones mejores, las finales más electrizantes, celebrando un año que quedará para siempre en nuestra memoria.

Este fue el MOMENTO más inspirador de todo el año.

Jonny corría para convertirse en Campeón Mundial y estaba en la posición ideal para lograrlo. Estaba delante de Mario Mola y todo lo que tenía que hacer era mantenerse en esa colocación hasta el final… la corona estaba casi en sus manos.

Estaba allí, a pasos de la meta, ya se habían mandado tweets que decían “Jonny ganó” y todos lo estaban esperando para la foto final.

Pero de repente se escuchó el rugido de los espectadores que en Cozumel comenzó a vivar a toda voz.

Jonny había colapsado por el calor y el cansancio y no podría finalizar…pero entonces apareció Alistair, lo tomó y ayudó a cruzar la meta.

Esta acción traspasó los límites del triatlón y recorrió el mundo como símbolo de deportividad y amor fraterno.

El interés que despertó esta noticia fue asombroso. Muy merecido además; luego de ganar el oro y la plata en los Juegos Olímpicos de Río y de ser protagonistas de esta Gran Final, el mundo admiró a este dúo, al que seguramente seguirá de cerca el próximo año.
