Jodie Stimpson ha tenido un comienzo de temporada realmente destacable. A fines del año pasado, la atleta decidió hacer cambios en su entrenamiento que pudieran rendir frutos al inicio de la actual temporada. Esta decisión fue fructuosa y le dio un tercer puesto en Madrid y Yokohama y la plata en la Copa Mundial de Mooloolaba. Estos resultados la colocan en el tercer lugar de la tabla de posiciones de la Serie Mundial de Triatlón. Os invitamos a conocer mejor a esta joven promesa de nuestro deporte.

¿Cuál es tu carrera favorita de la ITU?
“Londres. Es una carrera local. Más que nada me gusta porque recibes el apoyo de tu público. Sí, es Londres.”

Destino favorito para entrena:
Birmingham, mi hogar.
Destino favorito para vacacionar:
Birmingham porque está mi casa.
Música favorita para entrenar:
Cualquier tema de Pink
Bocadillo favorito para después de entrenar:
Si quiero algo que no sea para nada saludable…es el chocolate.
Café favorito:
Capuchino suave

¿Cuál fue tu primer triatlón?
“Tenía nueve años, recuerdo que mi padre me llevó a la carrera y la gané. Fue fabuloso.”

¿Cuál es tu ejercicio de entrenamiento favorito?
Una sesión de carrera a pie, definitivamente.”

¿Y el que menos disfrutas?
“Una sesión mala de natación es lo peor.”

¿Qué consejo daría a un atleta de la categoría por edades?
“Concentrarse en las cosas pequeñas, además de en la natación, la bicicleta y la carrera a pie por supuesto. Se puede ahorrar mucho tiempo en una transición. Hay otros detalles a tener en cuenta además de los obvios, como la nutrición por ejemplo.”
