A level 1 Technical Official’s course took place a few days before the 2013 Tiszaujvaros World Cup where 12 Hungarian referees took part. The facilitator of the course was Dr. Bela Varga with Alpar Nagy supporting his work.

The one day course provided the participants with the theoretical and practical training required to make them capable of officiating at National Events as a Technical Delegate and at Continental events as a Technical Official.

The course covered the purpose of the ITU Competition Rules, the intention, all modifications, exceptions and specific regulations updated by the ITU. It was followed by a written exam the next day and all participants worked on the 2013 Tiszaujvaros World Cup as Technical Officials.

The facilitators were satisfied with the new knowledge with the course and its design in timing with the World Cup. It was an energetic and inspiring workshop presentation.

“I really appreciated all the details that were included, focusing on the penalties and violations are often more helpful and easier to apply in practice than broad suggestions,” said participant Dora Rozsa.
