La carrera hacia la Foto del Año estuvo realmente reñida, pero finalmente, la impresionante imagen del la etapa de ciclismo masculina en Madrid tomada por Delly Carr resultó ser la más votada. En segundo lugar quedó la foto de Janos Schmidt que nos muestra a una exhausta Barbara Diaz en el área de llegada luego de la Gran Final de Budapest.

La foto de Madrid fue la ganadora de la tercera semana y aquí encontramos los comentarios del fotógrafo:

“No es necesario aclarar que la etapa de mayor cansancio físico en el Triatlón es la de ciclismo. Esto es más evidente en la última vuelta cuando los atletas comienzan a acelerar para posicionarse al frente y lograr un buen comienzo en la etapa pedestre. Esta imagen es el resultado de un gran trabajo, la combinación de diferentes técnicas fotográficas y concentración hicieron posible esta toma.”

“Los hermosos árboles madrileños que están alineados a lo largo del circuito de ciclismo le dan personalidad, color y velocidad a la imagen: estas tres palabras son de hecho la esencia del Triatlón.”- Delly Carr
