Spanish Olympic Committee rewards ITU President for her Olympic Values

The President of the Spanish Olympic Committee has announced that ITU President and IOC member, Marisol Casado, will receive the 2019 Olympic Values ​​award for her significant work and contribution to Olympism worldwide, and particularly in Spain. Ms. Casado is a member of the Spanish Olympic Committee since 2000, even tho she was also a member from 1992 until 1994, and was awarded with the Olympic Order in 2010.

Born in Madrid in 1956, Casado was elected in 2010 as an IOC member, and is currently a member of five IOC Commissions: Women and Sport (2014 to present), Public Affairs and Social Development through Sport (2015-to present), Evaluation for the Games of XXXIII Olympiad in 2024 (2016-2017), Olympic Solidarity (2017 to present) and Coordination of the Games of XXXIII Olympiad in Paris 2024 (2017 to present).

The Executive Committee of the Spanish Olympic Committee unanimously agreed also to reward the three best Spanish triathletes of all time, Javier Gómez Noya, Mario Mola and Ivan Raña at their annual gala, that will take place in Madrid on December 11.

Javier Gómez Noya has five ITU World Championships, while Iván Raña was the first Spaniard to ever win a World title. They both will receive the 2019 Olympic Order, while Mario Mola, three times World Champion, will be awarded with the 2019 Outstanding Sportsman Award.
