Biography

Brian is a full-time high school English teacher and professional triathlete. As an alumni of the University of the Pacific, he was a NCAA Division I swimmer while earning a Bachelor’s degree in English, a teaching credential, and a Master’s degree in Education, meriting All-Academic honors three times. While at Pacific, Brian was a nine-time finalist at the Big West Conference Championships. His best 1650 free time was a 15:50.
After college Brian made the transition into triathlons as a way to stay in competitive sports. In 2009 he took 2nd in the Open Age Group division at Memphis in May, earning his pro card. In his first full season as a professional triathlete Brian finished 11th at Elite Nationals and qualified to represent the U.S. at the Pan American Championships. Currently his focus is on ITU Olympic distance triathlons, but he also stays sharp by racing in local criterium races, 10K and ½ marathon runs, and aquathons.
