MEDIA GUIDE

Dear Media representatives,

A very warm welcome from the city of Alexandroupolis, the host town of 2005 Junior & Youth Triathlon European Championships.

The purpose of this guide is to introduce all the media facilities available to you, as well as comprehensive details that you need to have in mind during your stay in Alexandroupolis.

The media guide consists the following parts:

A.An introduction of the two media centers available to all accredited members of the media, their services, facilities and operational hours.

B.Race time communication: All the information you need on, where to find press releases, our daily newsletter and, more importantly, the race results.

C.Details of the official information center of the events.

D.The official Media Kit that contains everything that is of interest to the members of the media and where to get it.

E.Information about the media registration procedure that you will need to complete before your arrival.

F.Details of the official accreditation centre of the events.

G.Our paid services available to all members of the media.

H.Medical services

A. Media and Race Site Centers

There will be two media centres available for the accredited media persones:

1.Media Center at the Thraki Palace Hotel:

This center is located at the Conference hall of Thaki Palace Hotel which is the official Hotel of the events.

You will find a number of facilities available to you as well as all the press releases, daily newsletter, and the post race story.

Hours of operation: 08.00 to 20.00 from 18th until 25th of July.

Location: 4th km Alexandroupolis-Thesallonikis National Road. Approximately 10 minutes by car from the city center.

2.Race Site Media Center:

This center is MEGANET Internet Cafe, located very close to the venue facilities.

Hours of operation: 24 hours/day for the whole duration of the event.

Location: 375 Dimokratias Avenue

Facilities: 35 pcs with internet access and printing facilities

B.Race Time Communication

During the race and, especially, from the 21st of July onwards a number of services will be available for the members of the media.

Press releases: A number of press releases will be issued before the championships take place. On race days, press realeases will be issued when needed. They will be available at both Media Centres and at the official website.

Newsletter: From the 22nd of July onwards the Organising Committee
will produce a daily newsletter containing a summary of the days events with photos. This will be available from 10am the next day at both Media Centers as well as the Information Center located at the Thraki Palace Hotel. They will be available at our website as well.

Results:  The official Race Results will be directly online at the official website. Access to the site will be available through the Race Site Media Center.
Additionaly, 30 minutes after each race a hardcopy of the results will be available at both media centers.

Post race story: A post race story consisting of all the necessary details will be available online 60 minutes after the race. A hardcopy will be available as well.

Press conference: Two press conferences will take place. The first on Friday
the 22nd of July at Thraki Palace Hotel a day before the start of the races.
On the last day of the races, Sunday the 24th of July, the second press conference will take place summarising the whole event.

If anything occurs during the races the Organising Committee may conduct extra press conferences.

C. Information center

The information center of Alexandroupolis 2005 will be located at the Conference hall of the Thraki Palace Hotel.

At the center you will be able to find any information you might possibly want either concerning the races or the City of Alexandroupolis and its whereabouts.

D. Media Registration

Media members should fill in and send a registration form to the Organizing Committee by fax before their actual arrival. You can find this form at the official website of the races. For more informations do not hesitate to contacts us at media@qmevents.com.

E. Accreditation Center

The Accreditation Center will be situated inside the Information Center at the Thraki Palace Hotel.

Upon their arrival, media members should receive their accreditation at this site and not at the media center by showing their id cards.

F. Media Kit

The media kit will be available to you upon your arrival at the Thraki Palace Hotel. You can collect it at the Media Center.

The media kit will contain all the information that a member of the media will need during his/her stay.

G. Paid Services

The Organizing Committe can provide transportation and accomodation services upon request at accomodation@qmevents.com and transportation@qmevents.com.

H. Medical Services

During the event days, the Alexandroupolis General Hospital will be on high alert 24h/7days.
Furthermore, a doctor will be available at Thraki Palace Hotel in case of emergency.
