THE ASIAN O2 LONG DISTANCE TRIATHLON 2006

Mark your calendar:
30 Nov (Thu) - Race briefing, Carbo Dinner
01 Dec (Fri) - Race start at 6am, Late Lunch

This is a 4-in-1 event, with four races happening in one
event:
-      Sprint Triathlon (1-24-5) - for those who have
not trained long enough
-      Individual O2 race (3-80-20.ouch!) - for the
long distance specialist
-      O2 Inter-Club Competition - 3 individuals
entries from a club can form a team, 2 best times are
added and entered as the team time (Team Polo Tri, Fitness
First and Herbalife are the front liners.. But who knows,
Xycos and the Herbalife-fueled Trantados may post an
upset. Not to mention Clark’s Multi-Sport Group, San Pedro
SPTUSA and Team Legenda Hotel).
-      O2 Relay Team Race - For cyclists who have a
friend who can swim and another who can run. Or for
swimmers who can find others who can do the cycle and run
legs. Each team composed of 2 or 3 members. No gender
differentiation.
All O2 triathletes (individual and team) get
- Finisher’s medal
- Finisher’s t-shirt from SPEEDO
-  t-shirt from PowerBar
- Carbo Dinner by Legenda Hotel
- After-race meal (late lunch) by Legenda Hotel
- Massage by David Day Spa
- All finishers are guaranteed to get an O2 PR.. I
promise.
This race is sanctioned by
- The International Triathlon Union (ITU)
- Asian Triathlon Confederation (ASTC)

The Race Course
Swim - start at boardwalk area (same as SEA games and
Subic Intl Tri), triangular shaped course, start at left
side, 1 km per loop, O2ers do 3 loops, Sprinters do 1
loop. December is a bit chilly but wetsuit not needed and
not allowed.

Bike - 80 kms of undulating terrain..ouch!!!. 2 loops for
O2. Each loop goes all the way to the Ocean Adventure
area. If you cursed the Binnictican hill in SuBIT 2005 and
SuBIT 2006, this will be a different kind of curse.he he
he. You will hate me while on the saddle but will love me
during the sumptuous lunch served by Legenda Hotel.

Run - 8 rounds around the familiar
Waterfront-Manila-Dewey-Sampson loop. I know some of you
will be groggy by now. There will be 4 ways to count your
loops: (1) by yourself - the usual way of counting, (2) by
TRAP race marshals - we will appoint staff specifically
for counting loops and updating you, (3) rubber bands -
you get one for every loop, you must have 8 bands on your
wrist before entering the finish line area, and (4) by
your family and friends - this is a grueling race, make
sure to bring your own cheering squad and loop counters.
