Baby arrives with potential Olympic Record

Madeline Elizabeth, daughter of Isabelle Turcotte Baird & Ian arrived in possible Olympic record time.  Officials attending the race are still checking the photo finish however the unofficial time was just under 5 hours, beginning when Mom let go in the water till Madeline slipped through the finish line. In fact Madeline’s pace was so fast that she almost crossed the finish line in the back of an ambulance.

The record was further amplified by the fact that Madeline decided without consulting her coaches, to enter the race a full two weeks early. Reached after the race Madeline gurgled that she felt she had spent enough time in training camp and was at her optimal race weight of 5lbs 14oz.

Coach Mom however, was determined to ensure baby M followed all Olympic anti-doping rules, completing the whole race without any performance enhancing drugs. Following which Mom and Maddie wasted no time in transition and were back home three hours later. And not to be left out, rookie dad performed the delivery, and cut the finish line.  All are now relaxing at their new home on 164 Lytton Boulevard in Toronto.

Three Cheers from Ian, Isabelle and Madeline PS Parenting Rocks!

(Note: Isabelle Turcotte Baird was Canada’s top finisher at the Sydney Olympic Games.  She was also the chair of the ITU Athletes Committee for 4 years and took a 2 year term on the ITU Executive Board.)
