World Triathlon

Tiszaujvaros, Hungary: As the athletes and coaches packed up their bikes and gear and headed to Lausanne for next weekend’s Junior Triathlon World Championships,  there was a special feeling in the air that this training camp had been historical in may ways.

A unique group of coaches and athletes came together in a unique town in eastern Hungary and were hosted by a unique family, Judith and Gabor Markus.

Libby Burrell, ITU Sport Development Director praised both the coaches and the athletes, stating “The camp met our objectives and surpassed my wildest dreams. One athlete asked me today how on earth it would be possible to have a better camp than this one…... it felt good to hear that.”

The camp in Tiszaujvaros was made possible by the BG Group - ITU’s global partner.
