DTA Events are proud to announce SMF Funds Management Limited as the naming rights sponsor of the 2006 ITU Hobart Oceania Cup Triathlon. The SMF Hobart Oceania Cup Triathlon will be conducted on Sunday 19th February 2006 and will boast one of the best world class triathlon fields ever assembled in Tasmania.

SMF has been a very valuable and supporter of Triathlon Tasmania and we are more then pleased to extend their involvement. race director Kerry Stubbs said. We are very happy to further cement our relationship with them as they were very keen to see international sporting events in Tasmania. Stubbs said.

The naming rights sponsorship deal helps secure the future of the event. The SMF Hobart Oceania Cup Triathlon is race three of the Australian Triathlon Series. The race is a national selection race for age group, ITU junior and under 23 elite triathletes to represent Australia at the ITU World Triathlon Championships in Switzerland in September. It is also the final hit out for over 25 athletes competing at the Melbourne Commonwealth Games in March.

Entries from all over Australia and overseas are starting to roll in and event organisers are expecting a field of over 500 competitors. Race entries close on Friday 10th February at 5pm.
