A snowy Lähte became the first city in Estonia to host an ITU Technical Officials course when an ITU Level 1 TOs seminar was held on February 11 and 12.

While some of the world’s best winter triathletes hit the course for the 2012 Lähte ITU Winter Triathlon European Cup, 19 participants from four different countries started the process to become ITU officials.

The course was facilitated by Eugene Kraus from Luxembourg, and organised by the Estonian Triathlon Association, European Triathlon Union and International Triathlon Union. The participants, from Sweden, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, sat an open book exam at the end of the course.

Participants now have to officiate in an ITU event, within six months of the courses finish, to be certified as Level 1 Technical Officials this year.
