Ed Rice, the man who developed and implemented the conceptual framework for ITU’s online new media and television production is moving on to take up a role as the Head of Sports Presentation for the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, Qatar.

Just prior to Triathlon’s debut at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia, Ed re-launched our website to meet the needs of our growing Olympic sport federation.  Since that time he has guided it through various stages of evolution to the point that it is now one of the best online sport websites.

In 2004 Ed established ITUtv.com and prepared ITU for the eventual merge between television and the internet.  At that time, he also took over as the Producer of our 16 part Television show.

As the producer of our television, Ed made tremendous improvements in the quality of the shows.  New and dynamic graphics have made the show much more appealing to our television audience, and his talent for telling the story of our sport and its heroes has made us all very proud.

Unlike most International Olympic Federations, ITU controls every element of our website and television.  This is largely thanks to the guidance and expertise that Ed has given to us.

Best wishes from the entire ITU family Ed….we all hope that ITU’s path crosses often with yours’ in the future.
