Triathletes take in a baseball game in Seoul

In our second “Looking Back: 2010” video feature series, we took athletes Lisa Norden of Sweden and Barbara Riveros of Chile to a baseball game in Seoul.  The game was an opportunity for the Chilean to give the Swede a few pointers on a game that’s widely played in South America - and an intrinsic part of Korean culture.  It was a chance for the two triathletes to forget about the pressure of competition and put aside a burgeoning rivalry for a few hours to absorb the local culture.

When it came to the race, fifty-six women were on the start list for Seoul, but none were generating more pre-race buzz than the 22-year-old Riveros, who pulled off the surprise win at the Series opener in Sydney. Seoul was an opportunity for the slight Chilean to prove that her upset win Down Under was no fluke.
