The three-day conference will run from 7-9 February 2013 in Magglingen, and will offer state of the art infrastructure view panoramic views of Lake Biel, which is set against the stunning backdrop of the Bernese Alps.

All national triathlon federations are reminded that ITU is providing the option of registering one person at a special “federation delegate rate.”  National Federations may request the booking code for this special offer by writing to conference@baspo.admin.ch.

University of Lausanne professor Grégoire Millet, Chair of the Conference Scientific Committee, reports that the conference will gather many highly respected sports scientists to speak on their specialties in relation to triathlon.

The theme of the 2013 conference is ‘Reflect on the past – Design the future’. It represents the scientific lessons that triathlon coaches have applied through the years leading up to the 2012 London Olympic Games, as well as what science can now be applied to designing champions for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. Check out the CVs of the keynote speakers here.

Dr. Sergio Migliorini, Chair of the ITU Medical Committee said, “For a sport born out of innovation, it’s only fitting that triathlon continues to foster the growth of research and scientific trends.”
