La Foto ITU del Año será producto de la elección de imágenes de la Serie de Campeonatos Mundiales de Triatlón ITU Dextro Energy 2010. Cada semana nuestros lectores tienen la oportunidad de votar por la mejor foto del evento en cuestión. Una vez que se hayan seleccionado las siete mejores imágenes, esta serie fotográfica tendrá su culminación en una votación final que determinará la Foto ITU del Año. Además de participar del concurso, los lectores tienen la posibilidad de conocer cuál es la imagen favorita del fotógrafo de cada evento, lo que está publicado en una breve reseña al final de cada semana. Asegúrate de conectarte semanalmente, seguir la serie y votar por tu imagen favorita.

Tras seis eventos de la Serie realmente fascinantes, el Campeonato Mundial 2010 habría de definirse finalmente en la Gran Final de Budapest. En la capital húngara, por cierto de una gran belleza, los atletas recorrerían el circuito que los llevaría por sitios legendarios como el edificio del Parlamento, Chain Bridge y el Río Danubio.

En la competencia profesional masculina, Alistair Brownlee ganó su segunda Gran Final consecutiva aunque este triunfo no bastó para darle el título de Campeón Mundial, ya que Javier Gomez lo superó y se quedó con el segundo Campeonato Mundial de su carrera. La australiana Emma Moffatt también obtuvo su segundo título mundial al finalizar la Gran Final en segundo lugar y quedarse en la cima de los rankings de la Serie.

La pinturesca Budapest, una competencia colmada de grandes figuras y las competencias de categorías por edades, por supuesto atrajeron al equipo de fotógrafos de ITU que se hicieron presentes con todo su equipo en esta ciudad.
