It was a momentous occasion for Sri Lanka Triathlon (SLT) when 21 officials took part in the first ever Community Level TO course conducted by ITU and ASTC with assistance by SLT on Sunday 22nd December, 2013 in Colombo.

These 20 men and one woman, who have been officiating at SLT sanctioned events for the last 3 years, were able to further increase their technical knowledge about triathlon and understand how important it is keep abreast of all the new rules that come into effect each year.

The course was conducted by Peter Chua from Singapore. Chua is an ITU Level 2 facilitator who ensured that all the participants contributed during the sessions and understood the basics of triathlon officiating.

The Secretary General of Sri Lanka Triathlon, Sam Wickramasinghe, was very pleased with how the course went and said that this would provide the foundation for the SLT TO education programme, which they are trying to implement in 2014 with the Level 1 NTO course.  He was also very grateful to ASTC and the Development Coordinator Ki Woo-Kyong for making this much needed course a reality.
