Online registration for the Québec ITU Winter Triathlon and for the different events of the Pentathlon des neiges is now open.
To mark its 10th anniversary, Pentathlon des neiges is innovating again, and invites you to be part of history.
After making the Pentathlon des neiges the world’s biggest winter outdoor event, the non-profit organization will be introducing the premiere of the Québec ITU Winter Triathlon on March 8 and 9, 2014.
The event will take place on the historic Plains of Abraham.
The new Winter Triathlon will feature three disciplines, namely snowshoeing, speed skating and skiing. Numerous world-renowned athletes have already confirmed their participation and hope to make history by becoming the first-ever champions of this new sport.
Besides the traditional challenges of the 10th Pentathlon des neiges, the Québec ITU Winter Triathlon will be hosting three events over two days of racing. Elites and paratriathletes will be racing on March 9, 2014, in the wake of the popular “Age groups” that will be completing their winter triathlon the day before.
On March 10, 2014, the day following the premiere, ITU and Triathlon National Federations delegates will be hosting a meeting in Quebec dedicated exclusively to the worldwide development of the new ITU Winter Triathlon.
Distances for the elite and age groups are as follows:
Snowshoeing 5 km
Speed skating 12 km
Cross-country skiing 8 km
