2023 Age-Group World Championships Pontevedra - Day One
The 2023 World Triathlon Age-Group Championships lands in Pontevedra, Spain, this week.
Thursday, 21 September
The Parade of Nations took place with thousands of teams walking the streets of Pontevedra to the Plaza de España, where the Official Opening Ceremony took place. The City of Pontevedra put on a spectacular show in the Plaza for athletes, supporters and teams as they were welcomed by the Mayor of Pontevedra and President of the Organising Committee Miguel Anxo Fernández Lores, World Triathlon President and IOC Member Marisol Casado and dignitaries. The special event formally opened the 2023 Championships in Pontevedra.

Friday, 22 September
The 2023 World Triathlon Age-Group Super Sprint Distance Championships get underway today at 16hr. A finish line camera will be streaming the Age-Group Championships racing in Pontevedra and will be watchable on TriathlonLive.tv.
16:hr: 535 athletes lined up to compete in the 2023 World Triathlon Age-Group Championship Finals in Pontevedra.
The race started with a 300-metre swim in the Puente de los Tirantes and continued with the 6.4km bike course, which was mostly flat with a medium-low uphill section and a downhill section. The final portion of the race came down to a 1.6 km run, inside the stadium before finishing on the magnificent blue-carpet.
All athletes were awarded finisher medals after their race experience in the Age-Group Super-Sprint World Championships Pontevedra.
Athletes described the course in Pontevedra as “tough but beautiful” as they raced around the Spanish city in the Age-Group Super-Sprint World Championships.
