ITU is delighted to announce the 2012 ITU World Junior / U23 Camp will be held in Auckland, New Zealand. A squad of 30 athletes primarily from emerging and developing national federations will be selected to participate in the pre ITU World Championships camp under the guidance of an outstanding coaching staff made up of top level international triathlon coaches.

SELECTION OF ATHLETES:

National Federations must take note of the following:
• Athletes must be between 16 - 23 years (Competing in the Junior or U23 category at the 2012 ITU World Championships).
• Athletes must be selected based on Continental Championship and National Championship results.
• If an NF nominates more than one athlete then the names need to be submitted in priority order.
• Once the names have been submitted on the required application form a selection committee will select the final 30 candidates invited to attend the camp in New Zealand.
• Closing date for application is: 15 July 2012.

NOMINATION OF MENTOR COACHES:

National Federations are invited to nominate a coach to attend and participate in the camp in a mentoring role. The NF coaches will also participate in a coach mentoring programme which will run parallel to the camp activities.

    Please note the following:
• Nominated coaches should be actively working with national federation athletes.
• Nominated coaches must be prepared to form part of the coaching staff for the camp.
• ITU will cover all costs of accommodation, meals and ground transport of all of the coaches selected to participate.
• Closing date for application is: 15 July 2012.

ITU once again looks forward to hosting this special event and making it a wonderful learning experience for all the coaches and athletes involved.
